I’m Steven Tran, a licensed real estate broker with Diverse Realty Group serving the Portland Metro Area and Southwest Washington.
My path into real estate started as an investor and property manager. I’ve purchased and managed multifamily and residential properties in both Oregon and Washington, with hands-on experience in rental management, renovations, evaluating properties and understanding the numbers behind a real estate investment.
That background influences how I work with clients today. Whether someone is buying their first home, relocating to the Portland area, moving into a larger home, purchasing new construction or evaluating an investment property, I take an analytical approach to home buying.
A home is more than a listing and a purchase price. I want my clients to understand the property, neighborhood, market, comparable sales, potential risks, long-term considerations and the trade-offs behind the decision they’re making.

Helping Buyers Make Smarter Real Estate Decisions
My goal isn’t simply to help someone find a house. It’s to give buyers enough information and context to make a decision they feel confident about.
That can mean comparing neighborhoods and suburbs, reviewing recent comparable sales, understanding builder incentives, evaluating inspection findings, looking at potential rental income or simply talking through whether a particular home makes sense for someone’s long-term plans.
My background in business marketing, internet marketing and software engineering also shapes the way I approach real estate. I tend to look at problems systematically, research the available information and help clients separate useful data from noise.
For buyers relocating to the area, I’ve also created a free Portland Relocation Guide with information about neighborhoods, suburbs, pricing and what to consider when deciding where to live.

A big part of my work is helping people learn about real estate before they’re ready to make a purchase.
On my Steven Tran - Portland Metro Real Estate Guide , I create full home tours, Portland Metro real estate tips, neighborhood and community videos, new construction walkthroughs, relocation information and videos about programs that can make homeownership more accessible.
The goal is the same as my approach with clients: provide useful information so people can better understand their options and make smarter decisions about buying a home.

I’m also the co-host of the REalized Gains Podcast with Jordan Lee.
Jordan and I are experienced real estate industry professionals and real estate investors. On the podcast, we talk with real estate investors, entrepreneurs and business owners about building wealth, growing businesses and the lessons they’ve learned through experience.
Those conversations are another extension of what interests me about real estate: understanding how people make decisions, build businesses, solve problems and create long-term opportunities.

Industry & Community Involvement
I’m deeply involved in the real estate industry and the communities I serve.
My leadership experience has included serving as 2025 President of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) Portland Chapter, as well as leadership roles with Oregon REALTORS® and the Portland Metropolitan Association of REALTORS® (PMAR).
Staying involved at the local and state level gives me another perspective on housing, the real estate industry and issues affecting buyers, sellers and real estate professionals throughout Oregon.
